Today I just experienced a good example of a situation like those in your article, and I consider I got out successfully from it. I think they were trying to set a trap to dominate and get what they wanted over some rules I established. But time was my allied since my response was given so fast, (as they weren't expecting), using what they presented in first instance as a threat, and turned it into a solution removing them from the equation.
In addition, whenever I get that kind of "warnings", better to get rid of them asap. Otherwise they may become toxic to the group.
