Every Friday (maybe Saturday) I email a mixtape along with a cocktail of articles, quotes, essays, videos, screenshots, and podcasts that I find notably good for you and shareable.
Did you read my post on Doomscrolling and How to Eliminate Distractions? For a deeper dive into doomscrolling, read this journal entry and article that explores the compulsive need to try and get answers on the phone when we’re afraid.
An excellent documentary on the consequences of our increasing dependence on social media is Social Dilemma, available on Netflix. We tweet, we like, and we share— but what will eventually happen to us?
The United Nations recently announced that the world population reached 8 billion people on November 15th. At some point in the 2030s, it will cross 9 billion. Will it ever reach 10 billion?
What will the future of travel be like? Or an orbital vacation to Mars?
How often do you have that “overwhelming desire to perform and produce online?”
Great read: Atomic Habits by James Clear. One of my favorite books this year. James Clear nails it. Is packed with insight so it’s no wonder it has sold over 9 million copies. It is a great book to get 1% better every day, learn the power of compounding, and change your identity to change your habits.
Found the Magnolia Cafe in NYC recipe online to make the best banana pudding in the world!
Podcast: This episode from the Tim Ferriss Show is one of my favorite podcasts ever where Tim interviews Jerry Seinfeld: A Comedy Legend’s Systems, Routines, and Methods for Success.
Don’t look the other way nor minimize the abuse. How Bullying Manifests at Work — and How to Stop It.
Designers share open-access posters to amplify #WomenLifeFreedom protests in Iran and beyond.
POEM I AM DIGGING… ☕️
Bobby
By Diane Seuss
All the actors from the sitcoms
I watched as a child are dead.
And the musicians, assassinated
or natural
causes. Take a hint
they shout from the top tier
of the ancient Roman
amphitheater. No
I will not take a hint. I still
make a mean
bowl of soup which can now
be poured directly
from a can and inserted
into a box that heats
via electromagnetic radiation.
I once owned
a guitar and learned me
some of the chords to “Me
and Bobby McGee” and damn
if I couldn’t sing
good.
My voice was not like Janis.
Nothing like Janis. It was high
serene
forthcoming
piercing
mezzo
very lyric
very trill
hugely skinny like a water spout
the neighbors complained about
its beauty I sang I sung I’m singing
I barely began to begun
and I’m not done.
LMAO 😂
Have an awesome weekend! Send me comments, links, ideas, and questions. Just hit reply to my email and I’ll get your message directly.
Until next week!
